Time for the New Year

I try to say something sage about the passage of time at the end of the year. It seems to me that 2013 has passed a little quicker than the previous year. For one thing, we spent 5 weeks in Florida which included all of March. Time always seems to pass faster when the weather is bright and sunny! Any of my neighbors here in Canandaigua will attest to this fact.

Since I am fully retired, I have vowed to take advantage of every day that comes along in the Finger Lakes. And that’s the wonderful thing about living in the Finger Lakes region of New York State – a short day trip of about an hour can take you to just about anywhere in the Finger Lakes. We love to have lunch or dinner at restaurants that are located right on the water.  There’s nothing like eating outside and people watching as the boats come into dock. And while you are at it, you can daydream about owning one of the thousands of cottages or year- around homes that are built right on the Finger Lakes.

Come with me as I retrace some of my more memorable scenes from the Finger Lakes in 2013:

January – The Keuka Maid Being Disassembled at Hammondsport, NY

February – Winter’s Icy Grip at Shortsville, NY

April – Forsythia Blooming in Vine Valley, NY

May –  Wild Flowers and an Old Barn Near Naples, NY

June – Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary in Gananoque, Ontario

July – Wine Tasting With Susan and Cindy at McGregor’s Winery

August – Business Lunch at Wagner’s Winery with Jim and Marie
