I was headed to the Christkindl Market at the Granger Homestead in Canandaigua to visit Karen Wilhelmus who usually exhibits Wilhelmus Estate Winery Wines (click here) at the Christkindl event. As I passed the Wilhelmus Estate Winery, I noted that her car was in the parking lot so I stopped by to say hello. She will not be exhibiting there this year as she has been busy laying in a supply of her own wonderful Christmas gifts at the winery.
There are brightly colored holiday bottle covers for gifts, and blouses and aprons for the ladies to wear at their holiday parties. She showed me one of her unique bottle holders – a very fashionable ladies shoe!
There are all kinds of other wine accessories to look at; bottle stoppers, purse hangers, and wine gift packages which include a bottle of wine, a glass, and an opener – a nice deal if your are from out of town and want a glass of Wilhelmus Estate Wine before you get home.
And of course there are delicious wines to sample along with Wilhelmus’s champagnes which are made the old fashioned way. You can buy two bottles and get one free on certain select wine varieties. Or if you buy one non-wine merchandise item priced $20 and up, Karen will take $3 off. And did I mention my favorite Wilhelmus wine? It’s Chambercin and Boud Kuenen has a new release which is even better than the original one!
