It was one of those mornings when the sun was out and the sky was blue. People were out and about but like the wind, they were not moving very fast on this hot and humid morning. Down at Kershaw Park in Canandaigua, some folks were already cooling off in waters of Canandaigua Lake.
No need to invite the sea gulls or the ducks to the water. They had already chosen their favorite spot along the bank, ready to grab a bit of food from one of the park goers or to step into the water if the heat becomes too unbearable.
Over on West Lake Road, the Canandaigua Yacht Club was hosting boat races on Canandaigua Lake this week. There wasn’t much of a breeze blowing and it looked more like a leisurely afternoon sail rather than a race to me. But, with the end of August in sight, it’s time to take advantage of all that remains of our beautiful Finger Lakes summer.
