Happy Easter From Finger Lakes Living

Easter is late in April this year and our weather here in the Finger Lakes remains cool and rainy. Nevertheless, preparations for Easter and the coming warm weather season don’t stop in the Finger Lakes because of a little rain. Work on the Canandaigua Lady while she sat in the Canandaigua Lake State Marine Park all winter is now complete and she has been returned to the Lake where she is now docked behind Steamboat Landing (click here) all dolled up for Easter. Over the winter she received a new paint job, a newly appointed cheery wood interior which includes new carpeting, and an open air dance floor.

Our hyacinths are in full bloom along with the daffodils. The tulips won’t blossom until May. I always grumble when I plant the bulbs in the fall because I usually wait till just before the ground freezes and my hands are cold and my back hurts. But what would spring be without spring flowers?

We hope that you take the time to visit the church of your choice and to return thanks to God for the sacrifice of His son and the blessing of salvation. And while Easter is not all chocolate bunnies and colored eggs, we do hope that you too will be surrounded by family and friends this Easter.
