We took advantage of the nice sunshine and dry roads on Sunday to travel to Skaneateles, NY for a late lunch at the Sherwood Inn (click here). The village of Skaneateles sits on the northern edge of Skaneateles Lake, one of the five largest Finger Lakes. Skaneateles Lake is all frozen over now and quite a few folks took advantage of the February sunshine to take a walk out on the lake or to do a bit of ice fishing on the lake.
While spring is still four weeks away and the snow is piled high at the end of the driveways and parking lots in Skaneateles, NY, we enjoyed an unhurried lunch at Sherwood Inn which overlooks the lake. Nothing like a couple of glasses of finger lake wines to warm up your insides and spark your winter appetite.
We talked about our up and coming trip to Florida in March and how it will be nice to see some green grass and to be able to walk outside without a coat, scarf, and boots. But for now, we can’t imagine a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than to have lunch at the Sherwood Inn and just watch all of the ice and snow from inside the Inn.
