Some may flee the ice and snow, but January is the month for tasting Wilhelmus Estate Winery Finger Lakes wines or champagne (click here) paired with a hearty beef vegetable soup at the Wilhelmus Estate Winery’s winter event on January the 22nd and the 23rd. The beef vegetable soup is homemade and features Wilhelmus Estate’s Chambourcin wine as part of the recipe.
I’ll be there to sign your copy of my book “The Last of the Family Farms” and to talk about what it was like to have grown up on a family farm and to grow your own organic vegetables and raise your own animals for meat.
Karen has put together a January event special which includes a bottle of your favorite Wilhelmus red wine, a signed copy of “The Last of the Family Farms”, a wine glass, a few chocolates, and a coupon for a future wine tasting. Now that certainly has more appeal than carrying a bucket of hot water to the chicken coup in zero degree weather!

Maybe Karen will invite me back this winter. Wine and food make a great couple!
